    Engine bays are full of things that don't like water — ECUs, connector blocks, MAF sensors, ignition coils, alternators. The shops that clean them by hand are slow; the shops that pressure-wash them eventually generate warranty claims. Dry ice blasting is the method that lets you clean the bay aggressively without soaking the electrical system.

    The problem this solves

    Engine bays collect a baked-on film of oil mist, road dust, and grease — especially around the valve cover, intake manifold, and the back side of the radiator. Hand-cleaning is hours of work with rags and degreaser. Pressure-washing risks soaking the harness, the alternator, and the ignition system.

    On a restoration project, the additional problem is preservation — original engine paint, factory inspection markings, vacuum-line routing tags, and decals all need to survive the cleaning.

    Why dry ice blasting fits

    Dry ice pellets are non-conductive and dry. We can blast within inches of live electrical without the moisture risk that comes with water-based methods. The harness, the sensors, and the ignition all stay dry.

    On baked-on oil film, the thermal shock embrittles the contaminant layer; it flakes off the block, the intake, and the firewall cleanly. Factory paint and inspection markings survive at the right pressure setting.

    Can you clean a daily driver's engine bay?

    Yes. Most daily-driver bays are a 60–90 minute job depending on buildup. We don't disassemble; everything stays installed.

    Will it remove the factory yellow paint marks?

    Not at the preservation pressure setting we use for restoration projects. If you want them removed, we can dial it up — tell us up front.

    Do I need to drive to you?

    No. We mobilize to your shop or driveway. Need a flat, accessible workspace and 30 amp/220v if we're running the on-board compressor inside.
