Access and the window itself

A window only counts if the crew can actually get to the asset for the whole of it.

Start and end time for the window are confirmed in writing
The asset will be shut down, cooled, and released to us before we arriveHot surfaces and running equipment cost window time we cannot get back.
A site contact with authority to release the asset is on site or reachable
Gate, dock, or bay access is arranged, including after-hours
Parking is available for a service vehicle near the work area
Route from the vehicle to the asset is clear for hose and equipment
Overtime or window overrun has an agreed decision-maker

Power, air, and utilities

Confirm what we can draw on before the day, not on the day.

Compressed air availability confirmed, or we bring our own compressor
Electrical supply for lighting and equipment identified
Lighting adequate for the work area, or temporary lighting arranged
Water or drainage needs for any post-clean rinse by your team are understood

Ventilation and atmosphere

CO₂ sublimates to gas and displaces oxygen. This section is not optional and it can stop a job.

Work area has natural or mechanical ventilation
Low-airflow or enclosed areas have forced ventilation arrangedFans, extraction, or open doors — agreed before scheduling, not improvised.
Continuous CO₂ monitoring is planned for indoor and enclosed work
Any confined space has a permit, an attendant, and atmospheric monitoringTanks, pits, vessels, and crawlspaces. No permit, no entry.
Low-lying areas below the work zone are identified and kept clear

Electrical isolation

We do not blast energized equipment.

Assets to be cleaned can be de-energized for the duration of the work
Your lockout/tagout procedure is issued to the crew in advance
A qualified person from your side performs isolation and verification
Any asset that cannot be isolated is flagged and removed from scope

Protection and containment

Deciding this in advance is faster and cheaper than doing it twice.

Sensitive components identified for masking — sensors, seals, labels, bearings
Adjacent equipment, product, and packaging moved or covered
Containment method agreed — sheeting, curtains, or negative air
Collection and disposal of the dislodged contaminant is assigned to a named partyThe pellets turn to gas; the soil does not. Somebody has to sweep, vacuum, and dispose of it.
Regulated waste, if any, has a characterised disposal route agreed in writing
Any wash-down or sanitation step your procedures require is scheduled after us

Substrate and expectations

The test patch is what turns an estimate into a commitment.

Substrate materials identified — metal, masonry, timber, coating, plastic
An inconspicuous area is nominated for the test patch
An acceptable finish standard is agreed and, ideally, photographed
Contaminants confirmed as non-hazardous, or an abatement contractor is engagedLead paint, asbestos, silica, PCBs, and biohazards need a licensed specialist and their own controls.
Known soft, brittle, or damaged components flagged for exclusion

People, PPE, and site rules

Blasting is loud and the work area has to be cleared.

Work area can be cleared of personnel not wearing PPE
Hearing and eye protection available for any of your staff who must be present
Site induction, badging, and sign-in requirements sent to the crew in advance
Hot-work, permit, or contractor-management paperwork identified
Insurance certificate and any required documentation requested ahead of time
Emergency procedures, muster point, and first-aid contact shared

Documentation you want back

Cheap to produce on the day, impossible to produce afterwards.

Before and after photography requested, per asset if needed
Asset or tag numbers supplied so records match your CMMS
Sign-off sheet or completion record format agreed
Any photography restrictions or confidentiality rules stated up front
